Where did the Summer Go?
If you’re like me the last time you looked up it was spring and now…what happened to summer?! To what do we owe this rupture in the space-time continuim? Well, a crack team of SECCA physicists tracked the genesis of this phenomenon to just before July 15, otherwise known as our re-opening. After that, time was steadily accelerated by weekly events–films, concerts, lectures, etc. We were so busy celebrating the Summer @ SECCA, it was over before we knew it. To all those folks who came out to celebrate with us, we salute you! And if you want to relieve any of your Summer @ SECCA experiences, such as our Perform @ SECCA with Invisible and Projexorcism, our Community Day, or our Inside Out Classroom with Intermedia artis Freya Olafson, just check out our Flickr page.
Ok, so farewell Summer @ SECCA we hardly knew thee, and hello Fall @ SECCA! The celebration continues this Fall with a super exciting slate of exhibitions and programs. We’ll kick things of with our upcoming NCNC (North Carolina New Cotemporary Exhibition) followed by solo shows of Glenda Wharton and Shinque Smith. Each exhibition comes with a ton of related public programming including new performances by 87 Dance Productions, film screenings with Greensboro based Brett Ingram, and dialogues with NCNC artists.
Join us this Fall @ SECCA and celebrate the amazing creative energy of our home state! But come soon, it will be winter before you know it.
